North Lake Tahoe Vacation Rentals

Golfing

There are few places that are as attractive to golfers as Lake Tahoe. There are dozens of championship courses frequented by pro golfers, and virtually every North Lake Tahoe golf course offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Indeed, Lake Tahoe is home to some of the best-maintained and most enjoyable greens in the world. Whatever North Tahoe Rental Home you choose, it will be just a few minutes away from several courses, and a 15-minute drive will bring you to dozens more. No matter which course you visit, you’re sure to have an unforgettable and truly amazing afternoon or evening. Perhaps the hardest decision will be which course you should visit first!

Here are a few of the nearby courses you can try:

Tahoe City Golf Course

A favorite among the locals! This small executive course is conveniently located in the heart of Tahoe City. This nine-hole course is perfect if you want to spend a few relaxing hours on the greens. The course offers several spectacular lake views, and the water hazard at the second hole is actually part of Lake Tahoe! This course has the longest season of any in Tahoe, so if it’s well past summer and the other courses are already closed, check out the Tahoe City Golf Course.

Old Brockway Golf Course

This course is located in King’s Beach at the junction between the major highways. Despite being classified as an executive course, the Old Brockway is very popular and quite famous. It was the site of the Bing Crosby Golf Tournament, and has a much longer season than some other courses because of the generous amount of sunshine it receives. This is another place to check out if some of the other courses have closed for the year. This fun and relaxing course also has a great driving range.

North Star Golf Course

North Star boasts two full 18-hole courses. Both have unique characteristics, and both guarantee a fun and enjoyable afternoon. The mountain course is characterized by sharp inclines, large wooded areas that present numerous obstacles, and beautiful wildlife. The meadow course is, as its name suggests, more open, and is therefore more of a driving course. Both are target courses, meaning accuracy is a definite must. Both of these courses are very affordable, and are suitable for beginners and experts. The mountain course and the meadow course can be found at the North Star Resort.

Resort at Squaw Creek Golf Course

This 18-hole course designed by Robert Jones is one of the most breathtaking in Tahoe. Virtually every hole provides excellent views of the surrounding Sierras, making the experience much more enjoyable. There are 3 PGA professionals on staff, and caddy services and lessons are available. This course is located at the bottom of the Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
