The Truckee River Trail

The Truckee River Trail is one of the most meticulously-maintained trails in all of Tahoe. This paved, two-way path, which is over four miles long, attracts bikers, runners, and rollerbladers. It is a busy trail, especially on weekends, but facing the crowds is worth it because of the trail’s high quality and the beautiful views of the Truckee River it affords. This trail starts near Squaw Valley, at the edge of Tahoe City.

Squaw Valley’s legendary mountains, known around the world for their unparalleled skiing and snowboarding trails, transform into a biker’s paradise during the summer months. Here you’ll find dozens of winding paths suitable for beginners and experts. The miles upon miles of trails extend to every corner of the mountain, and can be accessed from a variety of points. One of the easiest ways to access the most breathtaking and exciting trails is via the cable car in the main village. You can ride the car up to high camp and bike down the mountain from there, which is a lot less work. From high camp, you can access single and double paths and trails of varying degrees of difficulty. If you didn’t bring your bike along on your Tahoe vacation, don’t worry! Rentals are available right at the resort.

North Star Biking
